About your Child’s School Meals
‘I found that my eldest son, who is a ‘faddy’ eater
was willing to try more at home after staying for school dinners’
Parent, Crofton Infant School
‘ I have had my confidence in school
meals reinforced. They provide a well balanced and nutritious mid-day
lunch. They are convenient and
reliable’
Parent, St. John’s Primary School, Wakefield
‘ The menu is varied and nutritious. I have visited the school
and viewed the meal. I am very pleased with what I have seen’.
Parent, Wrenthorpe Primary School
‘ I am involved in testing food for new menus. The children feel
very important when the food that they have tested appears on the menu
cycle’.
Mrs. Hartley (Cook Supervisor) Flanshaw J&I
School
‘ A great deal of time and effort goes into the planning of the
menus and the type of foods they buy. I believe that you can only serve
good quality meals if you use good quality ingredients and this is a
key factor in our purchasing policy for the lunchtime service’.
Mr. Bob Marshall, Food Buyer, Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation
‘ I have been very impressed by the commitment of Kingswood Catering
to provide catering in my school. As well as getting the message across about healthy eating in a fun way. I am certain
this is far more effective than just saying this type of food is good
for you’.
Mr. Darren Byford, Governor at St. Peters C.E. JI and Nursery, Stanley
‘ Introducing young people to the right types
of food in their formative years is very important. There is no such
thing as food that
is bad for you, it is all about eating a variety of foods and some in
moderation. I think that the menus provided by Kingswood Catering are
an excellent example of how to help youngsters with a varied, nutritious
and balanced meal’.
Mrs. Rosemary Booth and Miss Nicky Illington, Dieticians at Mid Yorkshire
Hospitals NHS Trust.
